Students have a unique opportunity to major in Animal Sciences or Rangeland Sciences. A student wishing to be admitted to any graduate program at Oregon State University must complete an application form, pay the application fee, and submit photocopies of all official transcripts. International students must also submit recent TOEFL scores and certify sufficient funding to complete the required degree. The Office of Admissions provides a more complete listing of required documents and application steps. Detailed information for both domestic applicants and international applicants is also available.

Program Requirements

  • Contact the program office to confirm application requirements. anrs.oregonstate.edu/anrs/how-apply
  • A 4-year baccalaureate degree or equivalent with GPA of 3.0 or higher on last 90 quarter credit or 60 semester credit hours
  • Application to OSU Graduate School that includes a statement of purpose
  • GRE scores, at least 40th percentile average
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores for international applicants (unless from Australia, Belize, Canada, New Zealand, Scotland, West Indies, the United Kingdom, or some African countries on a case-by-case basis; students with a degree from a U.S. institution of higher education are not required to take these tests)
  • Certificate of Finances Form for international applicants

Kristyn Vitale

Kristyn Vitale, receiver her PhD in Animal Sciences in 2018. She is a researcher in cat behavior, cat social cognition, and the human-cat bond and is a professor at Unity College in animal behavior.
