Students

January 2010

In the next few months, students will be working on many projects outside of the classroom.  The Agricultural Executive Council is preparing for the Spring Industry Tour which will showcase the agricultural industry in the Central Oregon region.  Our Collegiate FFA Organization is preparing to host the State FFA Convention that will bring 2500+ high school students to campus during spring break.  Our MANRRS organization and other clubs will be attending national conferences in pursuit of professional development and networking opportunities as students prepare to head out into the work force.

luWinter brings a lot of excitement to campus and is the time when many students embark on journeys to other parts of the world.  Many students will be taking advantage of opportunities to study abroad, including three students departing in February to study at Lincoln University in our CAS New Zealand Exchange Program.

Students also should be preparing scholarship applications early in winter term.   The College of Agricultural Sciences will award about $230,000 in scholarships this year. Student may receive additional funds from our departments as well.  By submitting the online application, students are placed in a pool to be considered for more than 100 scholarships.  We strongly urge all students to apply, as many criteria beyond academic record and financial need are used for selection.  To apply, students should visit:  http://agsci.oregonstate.edu/scholarships .
