Global Experiences
- Developing an international perspective and Intercultural competency is essential for students in our college today.
- Study abroad as well as research, internships and service based in other countries help students build awareness of and involvement in global agriculture.
- Our Global Experience fund helps students with their education by providing life changing international experiences, such as global internships around research related to food and agriculture.
Leadership Development
- It is important students have leadership experience designed to elevate the traditional curriculum by augmenting it with employability and professional skills
- The college's Leadership Academy is a one-year program for undergraduates focused on enhancing interpersonal “soft skills” such as communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and teamwork.
- Participants work with faculty mentors and Industry leaders who provide guidance and encouragement.

Research
- Research allows students to work alongside world-class faculty, putting theory into practice.
- They interact directly with industry and with public agencies, gaining skills, understanding, and connections they will use throughout their careers.
Internships
- To assure that every student graduates prepared for a satisfying and impactful career, we seek additional internship partners and resources that will substantially increase opportunities for transformative hands-on learning.
Merit-based scholarships and graduate fellowships
- Current-use and endowed scholarships are critical for OSU to successfully recruit the nation's best undergraduate and graduate students and to allow them to maximize their full potential.
Need-based scholarships
- Cost is the #1 reason students don't get to come to OSU and why they don't complete their degrees. Current use and endowed scholarships level the playing field and allow students to begin their careers without overwhelming debt.

Accessibility and Resources
It's not enough simply to provide a path to campus. We must invest and support systems to ensure that all students successfully graduate. Toward that end, the College of Agricultural Sciences supports student organizations that consistently perform among the best in the nation.
In addition to professional development opportunities, these organizations provide a support network for students and a sense of belonging, fostering an atmosphere in which all can thrive.
Student Clubs
- Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS)
- Students for Cultivating Change (SCC)
- Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS)
Emergency Fund
- When students experience financial challenges compounded by difficult or adverse circumstances, the College of Agricultural Sciences strives to provide support through emergency support funding.
- Our goal is to help provide students with funding for basic needs, such as housing and food, when they can't afford it themselves.
E.R. Jackman Friends & Alumni (ERFFA)
- The ERJFA board, a group of dedicated volunteers, actively plans, participates in, and supports student programs, alumni relations, and friend building on behalf of the college. ERJFA endowment within the OSU Foundation provide annual funding for the CAS students.
Dean’s Fund for Excellence
- Provides much needed support to help College of Agricultural Sciences students with learning experiences, tuition support, and special program funds that will prepare them to be successful in their future careers.
