College of Agricultural Sciences Award for Excellence in Extension Education

PURPOSE

To recognize the achievement of excellence by agricultural Extension agents and specialists who have contributed significantly in helping Oregonians resolve difficult problems through extended educational programs.

NATURE

The recipient will receive a cash award of $1,000 and a plaque. 

ELIGIBILITY

Nominees must currently be employed as Extension Faculty whose primary area of subject-matter responsibility is agricultural sciences and natural resources. The recipient must also have an academic home in one of the College of Agricultural Sciences' Departments.

CRITERIA

The award will be given to qualifying Extension agents and specialists. Nominations will be evaluated on the following basis:

  • The conduct of significant educational programs.

  • The use of effective educational methods.

  • Measurable results achieved.

NOMINATION MATERIALS:

In addition to the base nomination materials required for all awards, nomination packets must also include:

  1. The nomination letter should summarize the major contributions of the nominee's educational program efforts and the impact on Oregonians. 
  2. A professional resume.
  3. Position description.
  4. Evidence of successful program.
  5. The supporting letters should be written by colleagues and clients.
