As you learn about bioenergy, you will almost certainly find yourself confused by the various naming conventions. Like most names, they have been primarily based on marketing and not on facts. This lecture provides a cursory overview of fuel chemistry, which will help you better understand the composition of various fuels despite what their names imply.
